TMK to sell 1 bln rbl of unique pipes for Rosatom’s nuclear unit
MOSCOW, Nov 10 (PRIME) -- TMK-Inox, a subsidiary of Russian oil and gas pipe producer TMK, will sell 1 billion rubles of unique extra-long heat-exchanging pipes to ZiO-Podolsk, a subsidiary of state nuclear power corporation Rosatom, for construction of a reactor unit of the BREST-OD-300 experimental nuclear reactor, Rosatom said in a statement on Tuesday.
“As of today, technology for production of such a pipeline has no analogues in the global and national practice. While developing the new material and testing the technology, the specialists solved a tough technological task of achieving the same chemical and physical properties of the alloy throughout the entire length of the product,” Rosatom’s unit Atomenergomash said.
TMK should finish production and delivery of the pipelines in 2023. The BRES-OD-300 unit will operate eight steam generators, and the reactor will have an installed power capacity of 300 megawatts. The unit should confirm technical solutions used in development of reactors with lead heat carrying agents and closed nuclear fuel cycles.
